Tools required:
• Insulated flat-blade screwdriver
• Alligator clips
Perform the following steps to discharge the anode before
removing the CRT (Figure 1-7) :
1 Turn off the terminal.
2 Disconnect all cables from the terminal.
3 Remove the terminal enclosure.
4 With alligator clips, ground the shaft of an insulated flat-blade
screwdriver to the terminal's metal frame.
• Caution To prevent damage when discharging the anode,
avoid contact with the transistor, which is located on the
terminal's metal frame.
5 Slip the blade between the anode cap and the anode lead.
Touch the blade to the spring clips under the cap.
6 Remove the anode lead by pushing the two spring clips toward
each other enough to clear the CRT opening (Figure 1-7).
