Super Audio CD Playback
Super Audio CD is a new audio format
that offers even higher sound quality
than ordinary CDs. It is capable of
reproducing frequencies up to about
100kHz, compared with 20kHz for
CDs. Although frequencies above
20kHz are inaudible, the higher
harmonics result in a more natural
sound. The DVD-C940 has an
exclusive Super Audio CD decoder to
ensure highest quality as well as Bass
Management Processing for proper bass
routing, and multi-channel
compatibility with multi-channel/stereo
switching for playback.
