On
operating
voltage
Before operating
tile system,
check that tile operating
voltage
of your system
is identical
wilh the voltage of
your local power supply.
On safety
• The system is not disconnected
from the AC power
source (mains)
as long as it is connected
to the wall
outlet, even if the system
itself has been turned ofli
• Unplug the system from the wall outlet (mains)
if it
is not to be used for an extended
period of time. To
disconnect
the cord (mains
lead), pull it out by the
plug. Never pull the cord itselt]
• Should any solid object or liquid Pall into the

unplug the stereo system and have the
component
checked
by qualified
personnel
before
operating

service shop.

• Use caution
when placing the unit or speakers

surfaces
that have been specially
trealed (widl wax,
oil, i_ofish, etc.) as s_aining or discolorafion

surface may result.
On
heat
buildup
• Although
tile system
heals up during operation,
this
is ]lot malfunction.
• Place tile syslem
in a location
widl adequale
venrilafion
to prevent
heat build-up
in the syslem.
If you confint_ously
use this syslem at a large volume,
the cabinet
temperature
of the top, side and bol_om
rises considerably.
To avoid burning
yourself,
do no_
touch the cabinet.
To prevent
a malfimction,
do ]lot cover tile vemilafion
hole.
On
operation
• If the system
is brought
directly
from a cold 1o a
warm location,
or is placed in a very damp room,
illolslure
may COlldellse on die lens inside the CD
player.
Should Ibis occur, the system
will not
operate
properly.
Remove
the CD and leave the
system turned
on for about an hour until the
moisture
evaporates.
• When you move the system, take out any discs.
If you ]lave any questions
or problems
concerning
your stereo system, please consult your nearest Sony
dealer.
Notes
on CDs
• Before playing,
clean die CD with a cleaning
cloth.
Wipe the CD b'om the ce_lter out.
• Do not use solvents.
• DO not expose
the CD to direct sunlight
or heat
sources.
• Discs with non-s_andard
shapes (e.g., hear_, square,
star) cannot be played on this syslem. Al_empting
to
do so may damage
the system.
Do no_ use such
discs.
Note
on CD.R/CD-RW
playback
Discs recorded
on CD-R/CD-RW
drives may not be
played back because
of scralches,
dirt., recording
condition
or the drive's characteristics.
Besides,
the
discs, which are not yet finalized
at the end of
recording
cannot be played back.
Cleaning
the
cabinet
Use a sot_ clolh slightly moislened
widl mild
de_ergen_ solution.
To
save
a tape
permanently
TO prevent
a t_pe from being accidentally
recorded
over, break offthe
cassette
tab t¥om side A or B as
illustrated.

the broken
tab with adhesive
