visable to completely drain the system (hot-tub, compensation
tank, pipes, filter). In these situations, valves will also be provid-
ed for complete drainage of the pipes that connect the hot-tub,
the compensation tank and thespa-pak. See the pre-installation
specifications for (
2, 2a, 3, 3a - det. 32; Profile Pro:
det. 14; Virtus Pro:
2a, 2b, 2c- det. 11).
In areas where temperatures are only occasionally below 0
°C, the hot-tub can be kept in operation, provided it is equipped
with anti-freeze protection that ensures water is kept at a mini-
mum temperature (see the paragraph on maintaining a minimum
water temperature in the chapter on method of water heating").

MAINTENANCE

G
ENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Keep the hot-tub covered at all times when not in use. In this
way, along with keeping the water from getting dirty, you will
also avoid heat loss and evaporation.
CAUTION
P
The cover is not designed to withstand weights. Do
not stand, sit or lie on the cover, and do not set objects
on it.
If the hot-tub is installed indoors, the amount of humidity
may be very high, even if the cover is used (when not in use). In
these situations, it is advisable to provide a ventilation system
that ensures the best level of humidity.
To clean the suction nozzles, remove the cover and its o-ring
(1), using a screwdriver, unscrew the internal filter (2, present
only on the bottom drain), using a cone-shaped spanner (3),
thoroughly clean the parts and remove any residues.
1
NOTES
- the intakes must be cleaned with the tub empty. Remember to refit
all the parts before re-filling the hot-tub.
-the suction intake grilles must be checked at least once a week.

For long periods of disuse, it is advisable to completely drain
the system (refer to the chapter on emptying the tub and winter
shutdown). Periodic drainage, during normal use, vary depend-
ing on the frequency of use, the contaminants and the type of
installation.
Even if not used particularly frequently, you are advised to
replace the water at least once a month to ensure water quality.
The baskets of the pre-filters of the compensation tank must
be cleaned at least once a week, or even more often if the hot-
tub is used frequently. The pre-filter located at the inlet of the
filtering pump must also be checked periodically.
CAUTION
P
Never clean the filters with the pumps running. Turn
the main switch off first. Always turn the master switch
off when the hot-tub is empty.
F
ILTER MAINTENANCE
To clean the quartz sand filter, you will periodically need to
perform backwashing based on the information provided by
the gauge located on the selector valve. This means that you will
need to note the pressure indicated on the gauge during system
start-up, or at the end of a backwash period (this value varies de-
pending on the type of system and the length of the pipes in the sys-
tem, and is normally less than one atm). When this value rises to
0.2 atm above the initial value, you must perform backwashing
of the filter.
To perform backwashing, you must stop all the pumps, place
the selector valve in position (2) and then start the filtering
pump (refer to the respective pre-installation manual).
(Sienna, Alimia, Enjoy, Virginia models) You must also close
the valve of the suction line from the compensation tank (
2a, 3, 3a - det.31; Virtus Pro without integrated compensa-
tion tanks
2b/2c - detail 18) and completely open the valve
on the suction line of the hot-tub.
For the Profile Pro and Virtus Pro with integrated compen-
sation tanks models, check that the water in the compensation
tanks is not too far below the maximum level sensor; if it is too
low, the filling solenoid valve may be triggered, increasing the
time required to backwash the filter. "
After a few minutes, or when the drain water is clean (this
can be seen in the transparent glass on the selector valve), re-
fill the tub and restore initial operating conditions (filter in posi-
tion"1", ball valves and switches in normal operating conditions).
The sand in the filter needs to be changed when good water
filtering is no longer provided. This is indicated by the need to in-
crease the frequency of backwashing of the filters. Deterioration
of the sand is mainly attributable to water hardness, but also to
certain contaminants that may cause cementing of the filtering
material.
