+ There are two sets of IN/OUT 4 jacks; one on the front
panel and the other at the rear. The front IN/OUT 4 jacks
may be used to connect equipment which will be
connected and disconnected frequently, such as a video
camera recorder.
The signal introduced via the IN 4 jacks can be issued
from the OUT 4 jacks as well as from the OUT 1, 2 and 3
jacks. When a video player is connected to the IN 4
jacks, dubbings onto five different VTRs can be performed
at the same time.
A composite video signal' input to this unit is
automatically transformed into a Y/C separated S video
signal' when output. (A composite signal is also output.)
* Composite video signa! and S video signa!
The composite video signal is composed of the Y
(luminance) signal and the C (color) signal. When a
picture signal is input and output in the form of a
composite video signal, the picture quality may be
degraded by interference between the Y and C signals.
The Y/C separated signal (or the S video signal) is input
and output with the Y and C signals separated from each
other. As a result, there is no interference between the Y
and C signals, and this offers a high quality picture
recording and playback.
