By connecting a program timer to this unit, up to 3 channels,
including the last channel received and the channels stored in
A/CH-O
and B/CH-O,
can
be received
automatically.
This
feature is convenient for unattended recording. Operation of
the program reception function is as follows.

When the last channel received belongs to preset group A,
the channels received after power is turned OFF and ON
are:

Mi Recording calibration switch (REC CAL)
An optimum recording level is critical for recording FM broad-
casts with high-quality sound. However, the output level of
FM broadcasts always vary, making the recording level set-
ting difficult. When
the REC CAL switch is set to ON, the
calibration signal of approx. 400 Hz (the level corresponding
to 50%
FM modulation) is output continuously at the OUT-
PUT terminals.

@ Operate the program timer so that power is supplied to this
unit.
(2) Switch ON the power of this unit.
(8) Press the PROGRAM switch to OFF. (Ensure that the PRO-
GRAM indicator is OFF.)
(4) © When the station you want to receive first is a channel
in preset group A, store the second station you want to
receive in preset group A/CH-O, and store the third sta-
tion you want to receive in preset group B/CH-O.

When the station you want to receive first is a channel
in preset group B, store the second station you want to
receive in preset group B/CH-O, and store the third sta-
tion your want to receive in preset group A/CH-O.
(5) Tune in the station you want to receive first. At this time,
make sure that preset group A or B is selected properly.
(6) Press the PROGRAM switch to ON (so that the PROGRAM
indicator lights).
@) Switch OFF the power of this unit.
Set the program timer so that power is supplied to this unit
3 times.
() When power is supplied to 'his unit first, the station receiv-
ed in step 5 (the last channel) will be received. After recep-
tion, when power is supplied the second and then the third
times, the stations set in step 4 will be received.
If the
timer has been set to turn on more than 3 times, the sta-
tions in CH-O of A and B will be received alternately.

level can be obtained by setting the tape deck's VU meter to
indicate ''—6 dB"' or ''50%"'.
Recording tapes can tolerate a certain amount of overlevel in-
put. If you want a slightly high recording level, first decide
your optimum level by experience, then confirm the level by
using this reference
level signal.
The
knowledge
will be
helpful in setting the level in future recordings.
