Listening to the
radio
'The following steps show you how to tune
in to FM and AM radio broadcasts using
the automatic (search) and manual (step)
tuning functions, Once you are tuned to a
station vou can memorize the frequency
for recall later-—see Saving station
presels on page 48 for more on how to do
this.
1 Press TUN.
Alternatively, press FUNCTION on the
ront panel to select Tuner
2 Press BAND to select the FM or
AM band.
'ach press switches the band between FM
and AM
3 Tune to a station.
There are three ways to do this:
¢ Automatic tuning
To search for stations in the currently
selected band, press and hold either the
FQ-+ or FQ — button for about a second,
'The system will start searching for the next
station, stopping when it has found one.
Repeat this step to search for other

° Manual tuning
'To change the frequency one step at a
time, press the FQ+ / FQ — buttons
* High speed tuning
Press and hold the FQ+ or FQ— button
for high speed tuning. releasing the button,
once you reach the frequency you want,

* Press MONO to switch between
mono and stereo.
When listening in mono, the CQ indicator
lights in the display.
