    Installing Batteries Lift open battery compartment cover Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure the polarities are oriented exactly as shown in the following figure.     Language You may select a language for the information shown on LCD monitor. Select from: English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, and Italian. English is the default language. Sound You can set the camera to beep (or not) when you press a button. Format Media Formatting will erase all images and data on the CF card or built-in memory.

    Light Frequency If you plan to use your digital camera as a web camera, you may need to select the light frequency that matches the AC power frequency of the country in which you are using the camera. For example, the AC frequency for the USA is 60Hz, whereas European countries are 50Hz.
