Operation
Programming the Remote Buttons Is a
Simple Procedure
Step 1: Placethe HK 3470 remote controland
the remotecontrol for the otherdevice
(eg,r
compactdiscplayer)so that their inflared
transmitterwindowsface eachother at a
distanceof about one-halfinch
Step 2: Simultaneously pressthe Learn button
and the Source Selector (_ that corre-
spondsto the devicewhose codesyou are
trying to program(eg,, pressthe CDbutton
along with the Learnbutton).TheLED
Indicator @ will blink onceand remainlit
Step 3: Pressand releasethe button on the
HK3470 remotethat you wish to program
Makesure that it is one of the program-
mable buttonslisted in the tableon page
17,TheLED Indicator @ will blink once
and remainlit
Step 4: Pressand hold the button on the other
device'sremotewhose codeyou wish to
programinto the HK 3470 remote until the
LED Indicator @ blinksthreetimes and
remainslit, then releasethe button on the
other remote
If the LED Indicator @ flickersfor five sec-
onds insteadof blinking three timesand
remaininglit, the learningoperationwasunsuc-
cessful, f ly the procedureagain,startingflom
Step2, makingsurethat the transmitterwin-
dows of the two remotesface eachother,and
that the buttonyou aretrying to programon
the HK 3470 remoteis listedin the table on
page 17
Step 5: Toprogramadditionalbuttons,repeat
Steps2 through 4
Step 6: To exitthe learningmode,either press
the Learn button_
once,or wait 20 sec-
ondsfor the remoteto automaticallyreturn
to normaloperation,
Resetting One Key to Default Setting
When a new codeis programmedinto the
remote,it overwritesthe previouscodefor that
button on that page. However, s houldyou
makea mistake,it is possibleto resetany but-
ton to its factory default using the following
procedure:
Step 1: Enterthe learning modeby simultane-
ouslypressingany of the Device buttons
and the Learn button
Step 2: Pressand releasethe particulardevice
button for the pagecontainingthe keyyou
wish to reset TheLED Indicator _ will
blink onceand remainon
Step 3: Usethe Numeric Keys_ to enter
the numbers"777", The LEDIndicator
will blink for eachentry,
Step 4: Pressand releasethe button that you
wish to reset TheLED Indicator @ will
blink threetimes to indicatethat the button
has beenresetto the factory default code,
Step 5: Youmay repeatStep4 to resetthe
codesfor otherkeys,If you wish to resetthe
codesfor an entire devicepage,seebelow,
Step 6: To exitthe learningmode,either press
the Learn button_
once,or wait 20 sec-
ondsfor the remoteto automaticallyreturn
to normaloperation,
Resetting an Entire Device Page
If you wish to reset all of the codesfor a partic-
ular device,you need not individuallyreset
everybutton on that pageof the remote This is
the procedurefor resettingthe codeson a par-
ticular page
Step 1: Enterthe learning modeby simultane-
ouslypressingany of the Device buttons
and the Learn button
Step 2: Pressand releasethe particulardevice
button for the pageyou wish to reset,The
LED Indicator @ will blink onceand
remainon
Step 3: Usethe Numeric Keys _ to enter

Resetting the Entire Remote
It is alsopossibleto completelyresetall of the
programmedcodesin the remoteto the factory
default settings Usethe following procedure:
Step 1: Enterthe learning modeby simultane-
ouslypressingany of the Device buttons

Step 2: Pressand releaseany device button
other than PHONO, AM or FM.The LED
Indicator @ will blink onceandremainon
Step 3: Usethe Numeric Keys_ to enter
the numbers"999", TheLEDIndicator
will blink for eachentry,
Step 4: TheLED Indicator @ will remainon
for fiveseconds, a nd then blink threetimes
to indicatethat it hasresetall of the keyson
the remote,The entireremote will now oper-
ate the factory default set of codes,
