Uncrating the Unit
1. Leaving the unit on the pallet, place the upper handle
assembly and the LP tank bracket at the rear of the
machine.
2. Remove the bolt bag from under the mower deck
belt shield.
3. Refer to the parts manual to help you identify and
locate the parts and their proper position.

Installing the Handle Assembly
1. Position the lower end of the handle assembly on
the outside of the upper rear section of the fuel tank
and handle support.
2. Install four 3/8-16 x 1 inch bolts, four spring disk
washers from the outside in. Secure using four
3/8-16 whizlock nuts on the inside of each handle
support and tighten until the spring disk washers are
flat (Figure 1).
Note: Be sure the cone of the spring disk washer is
against the head of the bolt.

    Servicing the Engine The engine is shipped with oil; check oil level and if Greasing the Unit necessary fill to the appropriate level. Exmark 4-Cycle Note: The unit is not greased at the factory. Premium Engine Oil is recommended. Refer to the Engine Owner’s Manual for an acceptable alternative.

Replace hydraulic reservoir cap and tighten until snug. Do Not overtighten. Note: The baffle is labeled “HOT” and “COLD”.
