3.4 Fuel Lines and Hoses

Note: Keep all fuel lines and hoses away from the
exhaust system.
Routing fuel hoses. Take care when routing fuel lines
and hoses from the fuel tank to the generator set. Keep
each fuel hose length as short as possible but maintain
adequate clearance from the exhaust system, frame
rail, and fairings. Route hoses along the frame rail or
undercarriage—never route fuel lines or hoses inside
the sleeper cab.

6. Measure the depth of the fuel tank.
Note: The fuel line kit is designed to fit a 660 mm
(26 in.) dia. fuel tank. For tanks that are
660 mm (26 in.) dia. or larger, proceed to
step 12. For tanks that are smaller than
660 mm (26 in.) dia. proceed to step 7.
7. Scribe one mark on the fuel return line to indicate
the bottom depth measurement of the fuel tank.
8. Subtract 25-50 mm (1-2 in.) from the bottom depth
mark and scribe another mark on the fuel return line
to indicate the new depth requirement.
Note: The fuel return line should be no further than
25 mm (1 in.) to 50 mm (2 in.) from the
bottom depth of the fuel tank.
