    Choosing a Location for Your Microwave Oven on the Counter You will use the microwave oven frequently so plan its location for ease of use. It’s wise, if possible, to have counter space on at least one side of the micro- wave oven.

    Manual Operation Time Cooking Your microwave oven can be programmed for 99 minutes and 99 seconds (99.99). Always enter the seconds after the minutes, even if they are both zeros. • Suppose you want to cook for 5 minutes at 100%.

    4 minutes per pound. For example, defrost 4 minutes for 1 pound of frozen spaghetti sauce. Always stop the microwave oven periodically to remove or separate the por- tions that are defrosted. If food is not defrosted at the end of the estimated defrosting time, program the microwave oven in 1 minute increments at 30% until totally defrosted.
