INFRARED INDEX
The infrared index is used to obtain proper
focus when photographing with infrared film. It
is necessary to use this index for focusing be¬
cause the long wave-lengths of infrared radia¬
tion do not come into focus at the same plane
as visible light.
Focus on the subject as usual. Note the
point of focus on the distance scale opposite
the center index. Attach the filter to be used,
then turn the focusing grip to the right, aligning
the same point of proper focus on the distance
scale with the red infrared index on the lens
barrel.
TELE CONVERTERS
To double the effective focal length of the
35—105mm MD Zoom lens, it is recommended
to use the Minolta 300-S 2X Tele Converter.
The Minolta 300-L 2X Tele Converter may also
be used, but with some loss of image quality,
particularly
at greater
apertures
(larger lens
openings).
