ADVANCED OPERATION
RECORDING LEVEL ADJUSTMENT
When
recording on Beta hi-fi system, the recording level of two
channels can be adjusted with the REC
LEVEL control and the
sound
volume
of each
channel
can
be adjusted with the REC
BALANCE control.
Usually,
such
as when
you
record
TV
program
sound,
proper
recording level is obtained by setting the REC LEVEL control at 5
(green position).
When you record a sound source which contains low level to high
level signals, for example,
sounds
from
microphones
or audio
equipment, manually adjusting the recording level may result in a
better recording.
If the recording
level setting is too high, the sound will distorted,
and if the setting is too low, a noisy recording will result. The
recording level should be set as high as possible while avoiding
distortion.
Adjust so that the meters
deflect to the red portion only
at the highest signal level.
