RECORD MUTING
By
pressing
the
@Q
button
during
recording,
four
seconds
interspacing
is provided
automatically,
eliminating
unwanted
pro-
gram material such as broadcasting commercials. While the record
muting is operating, the incoming signal is not recorded on the tape
but it continues to be fed to the monitor so that you know exactly
what is going on.
@ Press the ©
button when the segment you do not want to record
begins. The indicator of the
#1 button will blink, and the tape path
will pause automatically after four seconds.
The record muting is operating.
In the pause mode
A blank is made while the
tape continues to run.
@ When you want to resume recording, press the
11 button.
To insert a blank less than four seconds long
Press the @ button to mute recording. Press the #1 button when
you want to resume recording.
To insert a blank over four seconds long
Hold down the @ button for as long as you want the blank segment
on the tape to be. After four seconds, the indicator of the
1t button
will blink more rapidly. When you release the
© button, the tape
deck will be in the pause mode. When you want to resume recording,
press the
tI button to release the pause mode.
ERASING
When the cassette deck functions in recording mode, the erase head
automatically erases any previously recorded material.
To erase without recording:
@ Make sure that the safety tab of the cassette is in place, or that the
tab slot is covered with plastic tape.
@ Make sure that nothing is connected to the MIC jack.
@ Depress the TAPE button of the function selectors.
@ Press the @ and
P» buttons simultaneously.
LISTENING TO RECORDS
To listen to a record program, first connect the record player as il-
lustrated on page 3, and proceed as follows:
@ Depress the POWER switch.
@ Depress the PHONO button of the function selectors.
elf your record player is equipped with a ceramic cartridge, connect
it to the AUX/TV jacks, and depress the AUX/TV button.
@ Start the record playing on the player.
6 Adjust the volume, tone quality and stereo balance.
e@lf you set the built-in cassette deck to the record mode, you can
record the record program.
OPERATION WITH AN EXTERNAL TAPE
RECORDER
RECORDING ON AN EXTERNAL TAPE RECORDER
@ Connect an external recorder to the REC OUT jacks. See page 3.
@ Depress the POWER switch.
© Select the program to be recorded with the appropriate function
selector and play the program.
@lf you depress
the TAPE
button,
a tape copy from the built-in
cassette deck to the externa! recorder can be made.
© Set the external recorder to the record mode.
@ Two recordings can be made simultaneously using both the built-
in and the external tape recorders. However, if interference from one
recorder is picked up by the other, make just one recording, then
copy it.
TAPE PLAYBACK FROM AN EXTERNAL TAPE RECORDER
@ Connect an external recorder to the AUX/TV jacks. See page 3.
@ Depress the POWER switch.
@ Depress the AUX/TV
button of the function
selectors and start
tape playback on the external recorder.
@ Adjust the volume, tone quality and stereo balance.
@\f you set the built-in cassette deck to the record mode, you can
make a copy of the tape.
