1. Melt butter in jug on HIGH power for 20-40 secs.
2. Stir in the flour to make a roux-
3. Add the milk gradually stimng continuously until
combined.
4. Cook for 2 mins, on HIGH power. Stir and cook for a further
3 mins. Sauce should be smooth and glossy and coat the
back of a spoon.
Mars Bar Sauce
2 Mars bars
60ml (4tbsp) milk
Ingredients
Dish: 1 litre (2pt} jug
Calories Total: 579 Reals
1. Cut each bar into four. Place in jug with the milk.
2. Cook on HIGH power for 2-3 mins or until melted, stirring
twice. Serve hot over ice-cream or sponge pudding.
Custard
30m[ (2tbsp) custard powder
15ml (Itbsp) sugar
600ml (Ipt) cold miik
Dish: 1 litre (2pt) jug
Calories Total: 520 Reals
1. Mix together the custard powder, sugar and a little milk to
form a smooth paste.
2. Blend in the remaining miik. whisking well.
3. Cook on HIGH power for 4-6 mins. Whisk well halfway
through cooking time and again at the end.

meat or poultry dripping with sediment
30ml {2tbsp) flour
300ml {'/ipt) stock
sait and pepper
Dish: 1 litre (^t) jug

1. Scrape dripping and sediment from roasting dish into the jug.
2. Stir flour into dripping.
3. Gradually blend in stock.
4. Cook on HIGH power tor 2-3
mins. Stirring
halfway ^trough.
Season and serve.
