Battery discharge immediately terminates, and normal battery charging starts. The LED indicates
charge status.

IMPRES 2 or IMPRES End-of-Service-Life LED Indication

The IMPRES 2 charger may indicate IMPRES 2 or IMPRES battery End-of-Service (alternating red
and green) upon successful completion of calibration or reconditioning.
As batteries are used, normal wear reduces available capacity. At the successful completion of
calibration or reconditioning, IMPRES 2 or IMPRES chargers compare IMPRES 2 or IMPRES battery
capacity to the battery-rated capacity. When the capacity is at a very low value, the IMPRES 2 or
IMPRES battery is nearing its End-of -Service. The IMPRES 2 or IMPRES battery remains usable. In
some scenarios, it is desirable to deploy the battery to someone who does not require large battery
capacity to complete a work shift.
APX NEXT ™ XN battery comes with high temperature detection feature that is detectable from
IMPRES 2 charger with software version V2.05 or newer. When this feature is enabled, the status
LED flashes red and green alternately upon charge completion for battery that went through prolonged
exposure under extreme high temperature environment. Motorola Solutions recommends removing this
battery out from the service.

Reconditioning Switch

The charger is equipped with a switch on the bottom of the unit. You can switch the recondition switch
to On to manually terminate the reconditioning process (as a systemic, on-going use-case). However,
the charger continues to provide an indication that you must recondition the battery.
The following image shows the placement of the recondition switch and ways to manually terminate the
reconditioning process.
