End-of-Service-Life Indication

The IMPRES 2 charger may indicate IMPRES 2 battery end-of-service by alternating red and green
LED upon successful completion of calibration or reconditioning.
When batteries are used, normal wear reduces available capacity. At the successful completion of
calibration or reconditioning, IMPRES 2 chargers compare IMPRES 2 battery capacity to the battery
rated capacity. When the capacity is at a very low value, the IMPRES 2 battery may be nearing its
end-of-service. The IMPRES 2 battery remains usable. In some scenarios, it may be preferable to
deploy the battery to someone who does not require large battery capacity to complete a work shift.
APX NEXT XN battery comes with high temperature detection feature that is detectable from IMPRES
2 charger with software version V2.02 or newer. When this feature is enabled, the status LED
flashes red and green alternately upon charge completion for battery that went through prolonged
exposure (exceeding 10 minutes cumulatively) under extreme high temperature environment. The
charger displays the following:
REPLACE BATTERY
EXPOSED OVERTEMP
It is recommended to remove this battery out from the service.

Reconditioning the Switch

charger continues to provide an indication that the battery needs to be reconditioned.
