Troubleshooting

When you find any problems with the player, check the following items before requesting
service.
Problem
The power cannot be
turned on or the
buttons do not
function.
The battery is quickly
exhausted after
charging.
Playback cannot be
performed.
No sound.
Audio data cannot be
transferred or
erased.
The charge indicator
blinks orange.
The charge indicator
does not light when
charging is at-
tempted.
I Resetting
If the above corrective actions do not solve the problem(s), reset the player using the
following procedure:
1 Remove the AC adapter from the player.
2 Slide the battery switch to "Stop", wait for 5 seconds, then slide back the switch
to "Supply."
The play mode returns to initial default state.
Cause
The remaining power
of the built-in battery is
insufficient.
The Hold status has
been selected.
The button was
pressed too quickly.
A personal computer is
connected.
The battery has failed.
The HDD Card has not
been inserted.
No audio data is
present.
Headphones are not
been connected.
The minimum volume
level has been
selected.
The player has not
been properly
connected to a
personal computer.
The cables have not
been properly
connected.
The cables have not
been properly
connected.
The ambient tempera-
ture is out of the
permitted range.
Remedy
Connect the AC adapter and
charge the built-in battery.
Slide back the HOLD switch to
cancel the Hold status.
To turn the power on, press and
hold the PLAY/PAUSE button
( ) for more than 2 seconds.
When the player is connected to
a personal computer, the player
cannot be operated.
Replace with a new battery. For
replacement of the built-in battery,
ask the store of purchase.
Insert the HDD Card.
Transfer audio data using the
TOSHIBA Audio Application.
Check the headphones, wired
remote control, and player
connections.
Adjust the volume.
Check the connection with a
personal computer.
Check the AC adapter, power
cable, and player connections.
Check the AC adapter, power
cable, and player connections.
Perform charging under the
permitted operation tempera-
ture.
