Sport lock
If you have ordered sport locks with your hearing aids
and mounted them as instructed on page 43, insert
them as follows:
To insert a hearing aid with a sport lock:
1. Insert the hearing aid as usual
2. Tuck the sport lock into the bottom of the concha
(the part of your ear just outside the ear canal).
NOTE: Sport locks may become stiff, brittle, or discolored over time and need replacement. Contact

Ensuring a proper fit of your hearing aid

To check if the hearing aid is placed correctly:
The body of the hearing aid should be placed just behind your ear.
When inserted in your ear canal, the dome should feel secure and comfortable. See
"Inserting the receiver dome into your ear", page 18 on how to insert the dome.
The receiver wire should fit comfortably around the top of your ear.
– If the wire is too long, it may bend away from your ear.
– If the wire is too short, it may feel tight and may pull the dome partly out of your ear.
