Changing the Transaxle
Fluid
Service Interval: Every 100 hours—Check the
transaxle for leaks.
Every 800 hours/Yearly (whichever comes
first)—Change the transaxle fluid.
Fluid Type: Mobil 424
Fluid Capacity: 0.95 L (1 US qt)
1. Align a drain pan under the transaxle drain plug
(Figure 47).

2. Remove the fill plug
3. Remove the drain plug and allow the fluid to
drain completely.
4. Install the drain plug and torque it to 12 to 19
N∙m (9 to 14 ft-lb).
5. Fill the transaxle with the specified fluid through
the fill-plug hole until it runs out of the fill hole.
6. Install the fill plug and torque it to 27 to 41 N∙m
(20 to 30 ft-lb).
