Extron MediaPort 300 HDMI and Audio to USB Scaling Bridge. About the MediaPort 300 The MediaPort 300 is a 4K HDMI and audio to USB scaling bridge that interfaces between professional audiovisual equipment and computer-based conferencing software to simplify video conferencing with soft codecs.
14. USB Video The MediaPort 300 accepts signals up to 4K/60 and scales video to a USB 5 Gbps output. To ensure the HDMI source is presented with the highest possible image quality to a soft codec, the MediaPort 300 incorporates video processing technology that provides optimized image scaling and frame rate conversion, preserving detail and legibility of source content.
Figure 2. Application 2 — MediaPort 300 with External DSP and AEC The MediaPort 300 is a fully featred video processor that features aspect ratio control, Auto Memory, Image reset, and internal test patterns. It can also display a user-supplied logo image whenever no signal is present at the HDMI input.
UC Telephony Controls from AV Control System — Bidirectional USB call controls through the MediaPort 300 allow the AV control system to manage common call functions such as answer, end, hold, and the like when using Teams, Zoom, or other UC systems with the MediaPort 300.

USB Playback — The MediaPort 300 is the computer USB audio playback device. • • Line Input 2 (analog) — The MediaPort 300 accepts balanced or unbalanced line level signals. • HDMI — The MediaPort 300 accepts 2-channel PCM audio signals from this digital connection.

NOTE: Ensure the MediaPort 300 is set to Standalone audio mode in PCS before beginning setup (see General Settings Page on page 48 for more information about selecting Standalone audio mode). This is an application for soft codec conferencing, in which the MediaPort 300 operates as a standalone device. Audio OVER TEMP...

To derive a dBu equivalent on the MediaPort 300 peak meter referenced to 0 dBFS, the MediaPort 300 max input level of +21 dBu must be considered. Subtracting 17 dB from +21 dBu gives +4 dBu. Therefore, −17 dBFS on the MediaPort 300 input meter is the approximate equivalent to +4 dBu.
Page 75
XPA 102 Plus, and speakers, such as the Extron SM 26. In most cases, the input sensitivity of an amplifier has a maximum of +4 dBu. The max output of the MediaPort 300 is +21 dBu, so attenuation of the amplifier input sensitivity is recommended. An input sensitivity of -12 to -17 dB on the amplifier should work well, but this may require testing the system and fine-tuning the settings.
Page 76
The PC (USB) input receives the far end audio signal from the soft codec conference via the USB connection. This audio is then sent to the MediaPort 300 analog line output, so that it can be heard in the near end room through a sound reinforcement system.
