A General

A1.
Anyone working with or on the Söll GlideLoc climbing protection system according to EN 353-
1 must be informed about the content of this manual before using the system. Acting contrary
to these instructions endangers human life.
A2.
The operator of the fall protection system must ensure that these instructions are kept safe,
dry and accessible to the user at all times.
A3.
These instructions must be provided by the operator of the system on request to the manufac-
turer of the fall arrest system (Honeywell Fall Protection Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG or one
of its authorized dealers).
A4.
For the use of this Söll GlideLoc climbing protection system, the instructions for use of the
corresponding Söll fall arrester must be observed.
A5.
For installation and use of Söll GlideLoc accessory parts on these fall arrest systems, the cor-
responding separate instructions must be observed.
A6.
When using further personal protective equipment, the corresponding separate instructions
must be observed.
A7.
The accident prevention regulations VBG 1 and VBG 74 as well as the „Guidelines for safety
and rescue harnesses" ZH 1/709 and ZH 1/710 must be observed.
For installation the UVV VBG 37 as well as the reference book ZH 1/61 must be observed.
A8.
Söll GlideLoc climbing protection devices may only be assembled and operated using original
Söll components/elements. The combination with components/elements of other manufactur-
ers can impair the safety of the Söll GlideLoc climbing protection systems. Product liability in
such cases is rejected by Honeywell Fall Protection Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, as well
as by its authorized dealers. In addition, there is no approval in such cases, as Söll climbing
protection devices are tested and approved as a system. The full liability is thus transferred to
the operator.
A9.
The control list (section G) must be filled out completely and correctly by the site manager of
the installation firm with an indelible pen.
A10.
Before and during each use of the assembled fall protection system, a visual inspection of the
functionality of the system must be carried out.
