Note: If the air temperature is below 55°F (13°C),
firmly push the primer in 5 times.
3. Start the engine in one of two ways:
Pull the recoil starter in the operating position
(Figure 16).

Pull the recoil starter at the engine (Figure 17).

4. If the mower does not start in 1 or 2 pulls, press the
primer button 1 or 2 times and try starting it again.
Note: If the mower still does not start, contact an
Authorized Service Dealer.

Using the Self-propel Drive

To operate the self-propel drive, simply walk with your
hands on the upper handle and your elbows at your sides,
and the mower will automatically keep pace with you.

Note: You can self-propel the mower with the blade
engaged or disengaged.

Stopping the Engine

Push the ignition toggle switch to the Stop position (Figure
19).

Engaging the Blade

When you start your engine, the blade does not turn. You
must engage the blade to mow.
1. Pull the control bar lock back (Figure 20).
