2.13 M.2 SSD Module Installation Guide
The M.2 is a small size and versatile card edge connector that aims to replace mPCIe and
mSATA. The Hyper M.2 Socket (M2_1, Key M) supports type 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 (64 Gb/
s) mode (with Vermeer, Matisse) or Gen3x4 (32 Gb/s) mode (with Cezanne, Renoir and
Picasso). The M.2 Socket (M2_2, Key M) supports type 2280 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s & PCIe
Gen3x2 (16 Gb/s) modes.
