    2. Scope Of License Granted 2.1 Datalogic grants to End User a personal non-exclusive, non-transferable, per- petual license to use the Software, solely on the Datalogic Product in which it is embedded ("designated Datalogic Product"), in machine-readable form only, solely for End User's internal business purposes. This Agreement does not convey ownership of the Software to End User.
  • Page 6 3.2 End User shall not sell, assign, sublicense, distribute, lend, rent, give, or other- wise transfer the Datalogic Product to any third party unless such third party agrees with Datalogic in writing to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. Any such transfer of the Datalogic Product absent such agreement shall be null and void.

    Using the PowerScan™ PM9100 Using the PowerScan™ PM9100 The PowerScan™ PM9100 normally functions by capturing and decoding barcodes. The reader is equipped with an aiming system which helps to aim the target. Figure 1. Aiming System PowerScan™ PM9100 provides an aiming system. If enabled, a partial trigger press produces a flashing scan line which should be aimed over the code, see the figure above.

    Using the PowerScan™ PM9100 Reading Angle Successful scanning is obtained by tilting the reader with respect to the barcode to avoid direct reflections that impair the reading performance, see the figure below. Symbologies with smaller bars or elements (mil size) should be read closer to the unit.

    To install, charge and/or do any other action on the bat- tery, follow the instructions in this manual. To charge the Battery Pack, See “Charging the Batteries” on page 7. Datalogic recommends annual replacement of rechargeable battery packs to ensure NOTE maximum performance.
  • Page 15 Use only the authorized power supplies, bat- tery pack, chargers, and docks supplied by CAUTION your Datalogic reseller. The use of any other power supplies can damage the device and void your warranty. Do not disassemble or modify the battery.
  • Page 16 Installing the Battery Pack As with other types of batteries, Lithium-Ion (LI) batteries will lose capacity over time. Capacity deterioration is noticeable after one year of service whether the battery is in use or not. It is difficult to precisely predict the finite life of a LI battery, but cell manufacturers rate them at 500 charge cycles.

    Installing the Battery Pack Charging the Batteries Once the BC 90x0 is powered, you can charge the reader's ™ batteries. Place the PowerScan PM9100 into the BC 90x0 cradle. The Reader LED on the cradle/battery charger turns red. The battery is completely charged when the Reader LED on the cradle/battery charger turns green.
