Adjusting the Upper Handle
Height
Model 20996 only
You may raise or lower the upper handle to a position
comfortable for you.
Note: You cannot raise the upper handle higher than the
angle of the lower handle.
1. Loosen the upper-handle knob (Figure 18).
2. Move the upper handle to the desired position (Figure
19).
3. Tighten the upper-handle knob firmly (Figure 19).

Starting the Engine

Important: The machine has a safety system that
prevents you from starting the machine unless you first
install the mulch plug or the grass bag securely on the
machine.
1. Install the mulch plug (Figure 21) or the grass bag
(Figure 22) on the machine.
