TRACTOR

BRAKE OPERATION
If tractor requiresmorethanfive (5) feet to
stop at highestspeed in highestgear on a
level,dry concreteor paved surface,then
brakemustbe checkedandadjusted_ (See
"TO CHECK BRAKE"in the Service and
Adjustmentssectionof this manual).
TIRES
• Maintainproper air pressure in all tires
(Seesidesof tire for properPSI).
• Keeptires free of gasoline,oil, or insect
controlchemicalswhichcanharmrubber.
• Avoid stumps,stones, deep ruts, sharp
objectsandotherhazards thatmaycause
tire damage.
NOTE; To seal tire puncturesand prevent
flattires dueto slowleaks,tire sealantmay
be purchasedfrom your local partsdealer.
Tire sealant also preventstire dry rot and
corrosion°
OPERATORPRESENCESYSTEM AND
REVERSEOPERATIONSYSTEM(ROS)
Be sure operator presence and reverse
operationsystemsare workingproperly, If
yourtractordoesnot functionas described,
repairthe problemimmediately.
• The engine should not start unless the
brake pedal is fully depressed,and the
attachmentclutchcontrolis in the disen-
gagedposition.

SYSTEM
• Whenthe engineis running,any attempt
by the operatorto leavethe seat without
first settingthe parkingbrakeshouldshut
off the engine.
• When the engineis runningand the at-
tachmentclutchis engaged,any attempt
by the operatorto leavethe seat should
shut offthe engine.
• Theattachment c lutchshouldneveroper-
ate unlessthe operatoris in the seat.
CHECK REVERSE OPERATION (ROS)
SYSTEM
, Whentheengineisrunningwiththeignition
switchinthe engine"ON"positionandthe
attachment c lutchis engaged, a nyattempt
by the operatorto go into reverseshould
shut off the engine.

(Normal Operating)
• When the engine is running with the ignition
switch in the ROS "ON" position
and the
attachment
clutch is engaged,
any attempt
by the operator
to shift into reverse should
NOT shut off the engine.
BLADE
CARE
For best results mower blades must be kept
arp.
Replace
bent or damaged
blades.
CAUTION:
Use only
a replacement
blade approved
by the manufacturer
of your
tractor.
Using a blade not approved
by the
manufacturer
of your tractor
is hazardous,
could
damage
your
tractor
and void
your
warranty°
BLADE
REMOVAL
1. Raise mower to highest position to alIow
access to blades.
NOTE:
Protect your hands with gloves
and/or
wrap blade with heavy cloth.
2.
Remove
blade bolt by turning
counter-
clockwise°
3.
Install new blade with stamped
"THIS
SIDE UP" facing
deck and mandrel
assembly.
IMPORTANT:
To ensure
proper assembly,
center hole in blade must align with star
on mandrel
assembly.
4.
Install and tighten
blade bolt securely
(45-55 FL Lbs. torque).
