Before performing

LUBRICATION
Pivot Points & Linkage
Lubricateall the pivotpointson thedrive systemand lift linkageat
least oncea season,or every 25 hoursof operation,with light oil.
Rear Wheels
The rearwheelsshouldbe removed from the axles oncea season.
Lubricatethe axles and the rimswell with an all-purposegreasebefore
reinstallingthem.

Bearings
Greasefittings are locatedon eachcasterwheeland on the frame
aboveeach frontcasterwheel, Figure17.Lubricate these areasusing
a greasegun after every50 hoursof moweroperation.

CLEANING
THE ENGINE AND DECK
Donot usea pressurewasherto cleanthe mower.It maycause
damageto electricalcomponents,spindles,pulleys,bearings,or the
engine.
Any fuelor oil spilledon the machineshouldbe wipedoff promptly.Do
notallowdebristo accumulate aroundany components on the mower.
Cleaning

Engineparts shouldbe kept cleanto reducethe risk of overheating
and ignitionof debris.This is especiallyimportantif cuttingtallgrass.

the Cutting
Deck
DeckWash System
Usethe DeckWashSystemto rinsegrass clippingsfrom the under-
sideof the deck and to preventthe buildupof corrosivechemicals.

Threadthe hosecoupler(packagedin a bag with the Operator's
Manual)onto the end of yourgardenhose, Figure18.

Turnthewater on.
Pointthe dischargechute awayfromany objectsor persons.
Startthe mowerand engagethe blades(press and hold the blade
controlagainstthe handlebargrip) for a minimumof two minutes.
Donot engagethedrive control.
Whencomplete,disengagethe bladecontrol(releasethe blade
control)and turn the engineoff.
Turnthewater off and detach thehose couplerfrom the water
port.
