11) The 7914 is the Band Clamp. Replace the clamp when it is distorted or
damaged. To remove it:
a. Untighten and loosen the screw on the clamp with a Phillips head
screwdriver:
b. Remove the clamp.
12) The 7881 and 7981 Small-Size are the Nose Cup Assemblies. They
include the 7882 Nose Cup Valve Assembly. Replace the nose cup
when it is damaged or distorted. To remove it:
a. Pull it away from the facepiece.
b. To remove the 7882 Valve Assembly, push it out of the nose cup.
13) The 7916 is the Breathing Room Assembly. Replace the assembly
when it is dirty or damaged. To remove it:
a. Remove the breathing room from the front of the facepiece by
pulling up while twisting.
14) The 7895 is the Speaking Diaphragm Kit. Replace the kit when it is
damaged or does not seat properly. To remove it:
a. Use the diaphragm removal tool to turn the diaphragm retaining
ring counterclockwise and remove.
b. Push the diaphragm out of the facepiece from underneath using the
eraser end of a pencil or similar object.
15) The 7282 is the Inhalation Valve. Replace it if warped, distorted, cut,
split or will not seat properly. To remove it:
a. Locate the valve on the posts inside the facepiece.
b. Lift the valve from the valve seat.
c. The 7886 is the DIN Connector. Do not replace the connector
unless it is damaged. If it must be removed call 3M Technical
Service at 1-800-243-4630.
