• Place the motorcycle on its
main stand (Dakar: use auxil-
iary stand, BMW special tool
number 00 1 610, or some

other, suitable auxiliary stand)
– Make sure the ground is
level and firm.
• Remove 4 retaining screws 1
• Remove rear wheel cover 2
