Checking the Belt Drive and
Taper Lock Hardware
Service Interval: Every 250 hours—Ensure that the
belt drive and taper-lock bushing set
screws are tightened to the correct
torque.
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, lower the
cutting unit, engage the parking brake, shut off
the engine, and remove the key.
2.
Remove the belt cover
3.
Tighten the set screws securing the taper-lock
bushings to 30 N∙m (41 ft-lb).

Removing the Cutting Unit
from the Machine
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, lower the
cutting unit, engage the parking brake, shut off
the engine, and remove the key.
2.
Disconnect the PTO-shaft yoke from the
cutting-unit gearbox shaft as shown in
Important:
Whenever you remove the PTO
shaft from the gearbox, use new capscrews
and locknuts to secure the shaft to the
gearbox.
3.
Remove the fasteners that attach the debris
skirt to the front-axle bracket on the traction unit
(Figure
14).
4.
Remove the lynch pins and pins securing the
cutting unit to the lift arms

Move the machine away from the cutting unit.
