TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
UPS does not provide power to
equipment.
UPS does not perform expected
runtime.
UPS cannot be turned on.
PowerPanel® Business is
inactive.
Night mode fan speed control is
inactive. Fans keep rotating in a
higher speed level in line mode.
"Service Battery" message appears
on LCD screen.
"Fault" or "Error" message is
appearing on LCD screen.
Possible Cause
Circuit breaker has tripped due to an
overload.
Batteries are discharged.
UPS has been damaged by a surge or spike.
Non-critical outlets have turned off
automatically due to an overload in battery
mode.
Batteries are not fully charged.
Batteries are degraded.
UPS does not recognize the correct
quantity of Extended Battery Modules.
UPS is not connected to an AC outlet.
Batteries are worn out.
Mechanical problem.
Part of hard reboot process has been
performed.
The serial cable or USB cable is not
connected.
The serial cable or USB cable is connected to
the wrong or defected port.
UPS is not providing battery power.
Ambient temperature is too high.
Overload for the fan speed level.
Component fault, such as fans.
The Battery Replacement Date has reached
the recommended maintenance period.
An internal malfunction may have occurred.
Solution
Turn the UPS off and unplug at least one piece of equipment. Wait
10 seconds, reset the circuit breaker and then turn the UPS on.
Recharge the UPS for at least 3 hours.
Contact CyberPower for repair.
NCL outlets will be turned on automatically as utility is restored. To
avoid recurring, check "Off on Overload" setting in Outlet Control
Menu and disable the function.
Recharge the batteries by leaving the UPS plugged in.
Contact CyberPower about replacement batteries.
Adjust the setting of Extended Battery Module Quantity on your
UPS to correct numbers via LCD module, PowerPanel® Business
software or RMCARD interface (if installed).
The unit must be connected to a 100 – 120V or 100 – 125V outlet.

Contact CyberPower about replacement batteries.
Contact CyberPower for repair.
Long press of the power switch is to forcibly shut down the UPS
when it freezes. When the UPS is off, long press of the power
switch will light up the LCD screen for a few seconds but cannot
turn on the UPS. Refer to BASIC OPERATION section to correctly
turn on the UPS.
Connect the cable to your UPS and computer. Use the cable that
came with the unit if your own communication cable does not
work.
Try another port on the computer.
Shut down the computer and tune the UPS off. Wait 10 seconds
and turn the UPS back on to reset the unit.
Turn off the unit and check the ventilation.
Adjust the fan speed to a higher level, or turn the UPS off and
unplug at least one piece of equipment. Wait 10 seconds and then
turn the UPS on.
Call CyberPower for repair.
Perform a runtime calibration to verify battery capacity is sufficient
and acceptable.
If batteries have been recently replaced, then reset the Battery
Replacement Date using PowerPanel® Business -Agent software or
RMCARD interface; you can also reset the Battery Change Date in
Advanced Setup Menu through LCD module.
Please refer to Fault Warning Display and Alarm in the LCD
OPERATION GUIDE section. If the fault persists, take note and
contact CyberPower for repair.
