    About this Guide The term ReadiConvene™, used in this documentation, refers to the Polycom® MGC+ that houses the ReadiConvene Integrated Application Module (IAM). The ReadiConvene IAM is the hardware platform that runs the ReadiManager® software application. The ReadiConvene appliance combines the capabilities of the MGC+ appliance and its MGC Manager with the ReadiManager application.

    The ReadiConvene IAM blade can be installed with the MGC+ unit ON or OFF. Refer to Table 1-2 on page 1-9 for more detailed instructions. It is important that you follow the sequence of steps as defined in sections below. Polycom, Inc.

  • Page 17 Push the I/O card firmly into the MGC+ backplane. Make sure its is properly seated in its slot. Tighten the four screws that secure the I/O card to the MGC+ chassis. Attach the required cables or connections to the I/O card for the ReadiConvene IAM blade. Polycom, Inc.

    — Connect the appliance directly to an Ethernet port on the computer with a crossover cable. — Connect the appliance and the computer to the same Ethernet switch or hub using standard Ethernet cables. Turn on the power for both devices. Go to “Changing Computer Network Settings”. Polycom, Inc.

From the Start menu, choose Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection Properties. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties. Polycom, Inc.

    Logging in the First Time The ReadiManager system provides a default administrator user name and password for the configuration process. After you have completed system setup and configuration, you can change the password for the administrator through the user setup screens. Polycom, Inc.

    To use an external database In the First Time Setup - Database screen, select the Use an external SQL Server database check box. Click the Database Setup Program link and download the Remote Database Setup Utility, DBSetup.exe, to your computer. Polycom, Inc.

    To obtain software license activation keys Locate and record the ReadiConvene server serial number. To locate the serial number: — Log in to ReadiConvene server as the administrator. — Choose System Setup > Licensing. The serial number appears in the Licensing screen. Polycom, Inc.
