TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
Possible corrective actions
Circuit breaker closed.
Check the electrical circuit and possible short circuit, line to ground,
loss of connections or motor windings causing the failure. Replace
the fuse and reset the compressor brakes, only after detecting and
correcting the cause of the fault.
Overloads are self-resetting. Check supply voltage, operating
amps, cycle times and mechanical operations. Allow time for
automatic reset.
Replace.
Determine the type and cause of the shutdown and correct it before
restarting the equipment. For example, low or high pressure, water
freezing, etc.
Wait until the unit calls for cooling.
Repair or replace the solenoid. Check wiring.
Check for open, shorted or bubbled motor.
Check all wire connections and tighten all terminal screws.
Check that the unit and compressor are on the correct phase of
the line voltage.
Reposition, add or remove hangers.
Replace.
Check for possible problem in compressor failure and replace.
Check the possible problem before it damages the compressor.
Clean the coil.
Check electrical circuit and fan motor.
Check the electrical circuit and possible problems before changing
the motor fan.
Remove excess coolant and check the liquid subcooling.
Check that the unit and fan motor are correctly supplanted by the
line voltage.
Check or replace condenser caps on front and rear of unit.
Remove the non-condensables in the system and replace the
charge.
