Controlling the operating mode

Changing RUN > STOP
You have the option of changing the mode of the CP between RUN and STOP using the
STEP 7 / NCM S7 configuration software (PLC > Accessible Nodes).
Procedure

Module access protection
The configurable module access protection has the following effects on the change of mode:
● Module access protection: Not disabled
● Module access protection: Status dependent

The CP reads the configured and/or downloaded data into the work memory and then
changes to the RUN mode.
The CP changes to STOP. Established connections (TCP or UDP connections) are
terminated (transitional phase with LED display "STOPPING").
The reaction is as follows in STOP:
– The communications connections mentioned above are terminated.
– Configuration and diagnostics of the CP is possible (system connections for
configuration, diagnostics, and PG channel routing are retained).
– HTTP access is possible.
– The time of day is not forwarded.
The functions can be executed.
With this setting, it is only possible to access the CP when the CPU is in STOP mode.
