IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

• Read all instructions carefully before using.

  When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions shouldalways be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
• Use appliance only for its intended use.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heatedoven.
• To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the basein water or any other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used nearchildren. This appliance is not intended for use by children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking offparts, and before cleaning.
• Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, as wellas spatulas and other utensils away during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons, and/or damage to the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or afterthe appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorized KRUPS Service Center for examination or repair.
• 
  The use of attachments not recommended or sold by KRUPS may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
• Do not let cord contact hot surface, including the stove.
• The appliance is not intended to prepare large quantites of food atone time.
• A rubber/plastic spatula or wooden spoon may be used, when theappliance is in "off" position and unplugged.
• This appliance is for household use only. Any servicing other thancleaning and user maintenance should be performed by an authorized KRUPS Service Center.

CAUTION

• This appliance is intended for household use only. Do not use it for commercialpurposes. Any servicing other than cleaning and user maintenance should be performed by the nearest authorized KRUPS Service Center.
• Check voltage to be sure that the voltage indicated on the rating label matchesyour voltage.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
• 
  To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not disassemble the base. Nouser serviceable parts inside. Repairs should be done by an authorised KRUPS Service Center only.
• Never clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners or sponges.
• Clean using gentle dishwashing liquid and warm water. Dry all parts carefully before next use.
• Do not place or use the appliance on hot surfaces such as stoves, hotplates, or near open gas flames.
• Do not unplug the unit by pulling on the cord. Instead grasp plug and pull todisconnect.
• Only use the appliance on a stable working surface away from water splashes.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

1. A short power cord or a detachable power cord is provided to reduce the risks of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord accidentally.
2. Longer detachable power cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
3. If a long detachable power cord or an extension cord is used:
   1. the marked electrical rating of the detachable power cord or extension cordshould be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
   2. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be agrounding type 3-wire cord.
   3. the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counterwhere it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.

The appliance may have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in anyway.

USE

• Before using for the first time, remove all packaging and rinse the bowl, stainless steel pulp filter, and juicing cone (B, C & D).
• Place the bowl on the base.
  
• Place the stainless steel pulp filter in the bowl, and then the juicing cone in the center of the pulp filter.
  
• Cut citrus fruit in half. For optimal juice extraction, press fruit at room temperature. Roll fruit on a table, using the palm of your hand to apply gentle pressure before cutting in half.
• Plug the citrus juicer in. Place fruit cut side down on the cone, applying pressure against the cone. The cone will automatically start rotating once pressure is applied, and juice will flow through the pulp filter into the bowl. Remove fruit when all juice has been extracted, the juice will automatically stop rotating when fruit is removed. Keep fruit centered and maintain constant pressure for best results.
  
• Do not use continuously for more than 10 minutes.

CLEANING

• Always unplug the citrus press before cleaning. Never immerse the base in water or place under running water. To clean the base, wipe with a clean damp cloth and dry carefully.
• Rinse the pulp filter after juicing for easy cleaning. Once pulp has dried on the filter, soak in warm water to loosen the pulp and then wipe with a sponge. Do not use abrasive or harsh chemical cleaners or sponges to clean the removable parts. The pulp filter and cover can also be washed in the upper level of the dishwasher, using the gentle cycle. The bowl and base cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher.
  
  

DISPOSING OF YOUR APPLIANCE

Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recycled. Consult your local waste collection center for correct disposal procedure and recycling options.
