The accessories contained in the model you have just bought are shown on the label located on the top of the packaging.

Important safety instructions

When using electrical appliances, always observe the following basic safety instructions:

• Carefully read the instructions leaflet before first using your appliance: KRUPS may not be held responsible for any incorrect use of the appliance
• Do not leave the appliance running without supervision, especially where there are young children or severely disabled people.
• Check that your appliance's power supply rating corresponds to your mains electrical power supply. Any error in connection will cancel the terms of your warranty.
• Your appliance is intended only for culinary purposes inside the home.
• Disconnect your appliance as soon as you have finished using it, when you clean it or if there is a power failure.
• Never put your fingers or any other object in the blender jug while the appliance is running.- Handle the blades with great care. They can cause injury.
• Do not use your appliance if it does not run correctly, if it has been damaged or if the power supply cord or plug has been damaged. For safety reasons, have them replaced by a KRUPS authorised service centre (see list in the KRUPS service handbook)
• Any maintenance other than normal cleaning by the customer must be performed by a certified service centre (see list in the KRUPS service handbook)
• Do not put the appliance, the power supply cord or the plug in water or any other liquid.
• Do not let the power supply cord hang in reach of children, close to or in contact with any hot parts of the appliance, close to a source of heat or a sharp edge.

• In the interests of safety, only use KRUPS accessories and spare parts designed for your appliance.
• Use your appliance on a flat, clean, dry surface.
• Never run the blender jug without ingredients or with dry products only and never pour boiling liquids into it.
• Do not use for more than 3 minutes in continuous operation. Wait for a few minutes before starting your appliance again after 3 minutes of uninterrupted operation.
• Do not put accessories in a microwave oven and do not sterilise them- Do not let long hair, scarves, ties, etc. hang over accessories when in operation - Always use the mixer jug with its lid fitted.

Safety precautions

When blending solid ingredients, first cut them into pieces 2 centimetres long maximum. Always pour liquid ingredients into the glass jug first before adding solid ingredients without exceeding the maximum level indicated:

• 1.5 l for thick mixes
  1. 1.25 l for liquid preparations

To add ingredients once mixing has started, remove the measuring cap from the lid and introduce them through the filling hole in the lid.

If ingredients remain stuck to the sides of the jug during mixing, stop the appliance and disconnect it.

Remove the mixer jug assembly from the body of the appliance.

Use a spatula to bring the preparation down onto the knife. NEVER put hands or fingers into the glass jug or close to the blade.

Before use

Before using your KRUPS blender for the first time, clean the lid, the jug, the measuring cap and crusher accessory (according to model) with warm soapy water to remove any dust left by the packaging.

Rinse and dry them thoroughly.

Never immerse the body of the appliance and never put it under running water.

Instructions for use

Assembling the glass jug:

• Fit the silicone seal to the bottom of the plastic base. Place the glass jug on its base and screw in a quarter turn (1, 2, 3). In case of leak, check that the gasket is not up side down.
  
• Place the assembled glass jug on the body of the appliance (4). Two positions are available, either handle to the right or handle to the left.
  
• The base fits the body of the appliance perfectly. You do not need to force or turn it to position it correctly.

Make certain that the glass jug is correctly screwed into its base.

Note: To ensure maximum safety, the base alone cannot run the appliance. For operation, the glass jug must first be assembled.

Bringing into service

• Put all the ingredients into the glass jug. For a more even mix, first introduce the liquid ingredients and run the KRUPS blender briefly before introducing solid ingredients.
• Place the lid on the jug and lock it
• Always be sure to fit the lid before running the blender. Connect the appliance. Press the button corresponding to the desired function to start the appliance. You can change the function while in use without having to stop the appliance just by pressing the button for the new function you desire. To add ingredients during blending, remove the measuring cap on the lid and introduce the ingredients through the filling hole

"Vari-pulse" button

• Press the "Vari-Pulse" button to use that function. The light will flash. Press the "recipe" button of your choice: the blender will continue to run as long as you keep the button pressed down. Release the button and the appliance will stop. You can apply and release pressure to the button successively to obtain an immediate response and ensure fine control over your preparation. To cancel the "Vari-Pulse" function, again press the "Vari-Pulse" button. The light will go off and the "Vari-Pulse" function will be deactivated.

AUTO-ICE button

• To crush ice, put the ice cubes into the jug and fit the lid again. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADD WATER. Press the "AUTO ICE" button to use the crushed ice function.
• Stop the appliance when the mix is completed by pressing the "OFF" (stop) button. Disconnect the appliance. Only remove the glass jug once the appliance has come to a stop and the blades have stopped rotating.

Crusher accessory (according to models)

You can use the crusher accessory to chop coriander, pepper, Cayenne pepper, dried apricots, etc. in just a few seconds.
You can use the crusher accessory to process 60g of dried apricots in 10 seconds maximum at speed
Do not use this setting for liquid preparations.

If the model you have just bought does not include the crusher accessory, you can purchase it from a KRUPS authorised service centre.

Practical hints

SETTING	PREPARATIONS	COMMENTS
	CRUSHED ICE	For finely crushed ice, work with 6 to 10 large ice cubes maximum (level 1/3 l)
	GARAM MASALA	Put the ingredients into the glass jug of the blender and run until you obtain the desired result. You can switch to at the end of the preparation to refine it.
	SOUPS	Put the (raw or cooked) ingredients into the jug without filling over the 1.5 l line. Run for about 1 minute.
	FRESH FRUIT COCKTAILS	Peel the fruit, remove cores, stones and large pips. Cut the fruit into large pieces. Put the ingredients (fruit, juice and others) into the jug and run until the mix is even (about l minute).
	TOMATO SAUCES AND COULIS	Put the ingredients into the jug, starting with liquids. To avoid splashing, put enough ingredients in to cover the blades
	COOKED VEGETABLE PUREES	Put the vegetables and a little of the cooking stock into the jug. Run until you obtain the desired consistency. If the preparation remains too compact, use the "Vari-Pulse" function to ease work. Do not hesitate to stop the appliance during preparation to push down the ingredients onto the blade We do not recommend trying to make mashed potatoes using the appliance.
	VEGETABLE STUFFING	Put all the ingredients into the jug starting with the liquids. If the mix is thick, use the "Vari-Pulse" function to ease work at the start of the preparation. Do not hesitate to stop the appliance during preparation to push down the ingredients onto the blade.
	PARMESAN AND HARD CHEESES	Cut the cheese into large cubes and run until you obtain the desired fineness. You can start work using the "Vari-Pulse" function.
	FISHCAKE AND FISH TERRINES	Put all the ingredients into the jug starting with the liquids. If the mix is thick, use the "Vari-Pulse" function to ease work at the start of the preparation. Do not hesitate to stop the appliance during preparation to push down the ingredients onto the blade
	COOKED FRUIT COMPOTES AND RAW FRUIT COULIS	Put all the ingredients into the jug. To avoid splashing, put enough ingredients in to cover the blades
	PANCAKE, WAFFLE, DOUGHNUT AND CLAFOUTIS MIXES	Put all the ingredients into the jug through the filling hole in the lid, adding the flour last either in one go or gradually during mixing. Do not exceed 1.5l of preparation.
	SPREADS AND SALAD DRESSINGS BASED ON COTTAGE CHEESE OR YOGHURT	Start by roughly chopping the hard ingredients and herbs, using the function, then add the cheese or yoghurt and run until you obtain a smooth preparation. Do not hesitate to stop the appliance during preparation to push down the ingredients onto the blade if necessary.
	MILK-SHAKES WITH FRUIT (raspberry, banana, mango, etc.)	Put all the ingredients into the blender jug and run until you obtain a smooth preparation. Best results are obtained with 1/2l of cold milk. As the preparation will increase in volume during mixing, use at most 1 litre of milk.
	ONIONS AND SHALLOTS	Cut the onions or shallots into 4 and run until you obtain the desired level of fineness. Do not hesitate to stop the appliance during preparation to push down the ingredients onto the blade if necessary. Max. quantity you can make: 300g
	WALNUTS, HAZELNUTS AND ALMONDS	Put the fruits into the blender jug and run until you obtain the desired chop. For best results, it is preferable to work with small quantities: 50 to 100g maximum
	CRACKERS, BISCUITS, DRIED BREAD AND RUSKS	Cut the ingredients into large pieces. Put them into the blender jug and run until you obtain the desired result. For best results, it is preferable to work with small quantities: 40 to 50g.
	GUACAMOLE	Put all the ingredients into the jug starting with the liquids and run until everything is chopped. You can switch to the function for a few seconds at the end of preparation to make the mix more even.
	COFFEE, CHOCOLATE, VANILLA, ETC. MILK-SHAKES	Put all the ingredients into the jug and run until you obtain an even, frothy mix. Best results are obtained with 1/2 l of cold milk. As the preparation will increase in volume during mixing, use at most 1 litre of milk.
	MAYONNAISE egg, mustard, vinegar or lemon juice, salt, oil	Put the egg, mustard, vinegar or lemon juice and salt into the jug. Add the volume of a measuring cap of oil (75 ml). Run until the mayonnaise thickens. Add the rest of the oil (200 ml) in small quantities. To avoid splashing, stop the appliance whenever you add more oil.
	JUICE MADE FROM FROZEN FRUIT	Put the block of frozen fruit juice and recommended volume of water into the blender jug. Run for a few seconds. To avoid froth foaming, do not mix for too long.
	INSTANT PREPARATIONS FOR DIETS, POWDERED MILK SWEETS, ETC.	Put all the ingredients into the jug and run for 10 to 15s maximum to smooth the preparation. You can also use the "Vari-Pulse" function to limit the formation of froth.
	VINAIGRETTES	Start by roughly chopping the hard ingredients and herbs, using the function, then add the rest of the ingredients and run for 15 to 20s. To avoid splashing, the liquid to be mixed should cover the knife blade (about 250ml).

Cleaning

Always make certain the KRUPS blender is disconnected before cleaning.
Thoroughly wash the glass jug and its various components (see diagram) in hot soapy water and rinse with plenty of water.
Do not use scouring pads that are likely to scratch the material.
Rinse and dry each component thoroughly.
You can wash the glass jug, plastic base with stainless steel blades and the body of the accessory in the dishwasher. First disassemble the parts to load them into the dishwasher separately.

Handle blades with great care as they are extremely sharp and can cause injury.
Clean the body of the appliance with a damp cloth.
Never immerse the body of the appliance in water and do not put it under running water.
