How to use the Coffee Grinder

Before first use: Clean the Coffee Grinder. See "Care and cleaning" section.

  1. Hold unit and pull away Cord Storage Cover. Unwind cord to desired length. Secure cord in notch and push Cord Storage Cover closed.
  2. With Coffee Grinder unplugged, remove Lid by twisting counterclockwise until it releases and then lift off of base. Use the cup markings to correspond to the number of cups of coffee being made. Place beans in Removable Grinding Chamber.

NOTE: Overfilling can cause unit to overheat and malfunction.

  1. Align arrow on Lid with graphic on grinder; then twist Lid clockwise until it locks into place. The grinder will not operate without the Lid properly locked. Plug into outlet.
  2. Press and hold ON (I) button. Grind 10 to 20 seconds, depending on amount and desired grind. Use coarse grind for percolators and medium to fine for drip coffeemakers. A finer grind will yield stronger coffee. For spices, see "Spice grinding chart".

NOTE: The Coffee Grinder will only operate with Lid in place and ON (I) button pressed.

  1. To remove Lid, twist counterclockwise until it releases and then lift off of Base.

Tips for Best Results

  • For best flavor, store coffee beans in a dark, airtight container.
  • Grind beans immediately before brewing.
  • Coffee flavor and strength is a personal preference. Vary the type of coffee beans, amount of coffee, and fineness of grind to find the flavor you prefer.
  • Grinder should be cleaned between coffee and spice grinding to help prevent taste and odor transfer.
  • Grinder is intended for use with dried ingredients and is not recommended for use with fresh herbs or nuts.
  • Grinding coffee too finely can sometimes result in coffee "overflow" from the brew basket
