Antenna connector
The SCALANCE W778/W738 has two antenna connectors of the type N-Connect located on
the top of the device.

Procedure
Follow the steps below to connect a cable for an external antenna:
1. Remove the caps.
2. Insert the connector on the antenna cable into the N-Connect socket and tighten the
sleeve nut of the plug on the socket (key size SW19, torque 1.7 Nm).
3. If you only use one antenna, you need to connect this to the device via antenna
connector R1 A1 (position

You can connect one or two external antennas to the WLAN interface. At the antenna
connector R1A1, there must be always be an antenna connected as soon as the WLAN
Interface is turned on. The unused antenna connector R1A2 must have a terminating
resistor fitted (see Accessories (Page 15).
if no antenna is connected, the relevant interface must also be disabled for RX and TX.
Otherwise, there may be transmission disruptions.
