Rack-Mounted 14V/18V Satellite Multiswitch
Pico Macom's TSMS-5/8RK rack-mounted satellite multiswitche can be used in
every SMATV application requiring satellite 950-2150MHz IF distribution. The easy
mount enclosure and all rear panel connections provide for rack mounting or quick
and easy wall mounting by simply turning the unit face to the wall. The TSMS-5/8RK
is compatible with DIRECTV phase three dish reception systems by allowing 4 LNB
inputs and 1 antenna and providing 8 outputs. A constant 22 kHz tone is provided on 2
of the input ports and 14 or 18 dc volts are provided to power the LNB and conduct
internal switching. The advanced circuit design incorporates a pin diode matrix to route
any of the inputs to any of the outputs by utilizing the 13-14V Right-Circular/Vertical or
17-18V Left-Circular/Horizontal switching control supplied by the satellite receivers,
thus eliminating digital artifacts that result from mechanical relay switching. To com-
pensate for insertion loss, the TSMS-5/8RK uses separate built-in amplifiers for
satellite and/or VHF/UHF signals. The TSMS-5/8RK will supply power to the LNBs
reducing heat build up within the multiswitch and prolong the life of the unit.
