Grounding
The equipment must be grounded to reduce the risk
of static sparking. Static sparking can cause fumes to
ignite or explode. Grounding provides an escape wire
for the electric current.
Pump and air motor: Grounded through the fasteners
that connect the pump bracket to the system frame. The
frame of the system must be connected to a true earth
ground.
If the frame is not grounded, connect a ground wire and
clamp (Part 238909, purchased separately) to the
provided ground screw (A). The wire and clamp must be
connected to a true earth ground.
Fill the Wet Cup
Before operating the pump, fill the wet cup port (C) half
full with Graco Throat Seal Liquid (TSL) or a compatible
water-based lubricant. Refer to (page 14) for wetted
components.

Operation
Pressure Relief Procedure
Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure whenever
you see this symbol.
This equipment stays pressurized until pressure is
manually relieved. To help prevent serious injury from
pressurized fluid, such as skin injection, splashing
fluid and moving parts, follow the Pressure Relief
Procedure when you stop spraying and before
cleaning, checking, or servicing the equipment.
Always de-pressurize the system before starting any
repair procedures. Follow the Pressure Relief
Procedure in your system manual.
Maintenance
Preventive Maintenance
Schedule
The operating conditions of your system determine how
often maintenance is required. Establish a preventative
maintenance schedule by recording when and what kind
of maintenance is needed, then determine a regular
schedule for checking your system.
Tighten Threaded Connections
Before each use, check all hoses for wear or damage.
Replace as necessary. Check that all threaded
connections are tight and leak-free.
Wet Cup
Fill the wet cup half-full of Graco TSL. Verify the level of
TSL daily.
