SERVICE PROCEDURE

CHECK ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT TENSION, ADJUST

CHECKING
1. Remove front cover (1).
2. Remove cover (2).
3. Press the belt with a finger force of approx. 58.8 N {6 kg} at a
point midway between crankshaft pulley (3) and water pump
pulley (4).
Standard deflection (A): 6 - 7 mm (0.2 - 0.3 in)
ADJUSTING
1. Remove 10 mounting bolts from engine side cover (5) on the
right side of the machine, then remove the engine side cover.
