Installing Cards to the Server

This chapter explains the procedure for installing cards to the server.
WARNING
• Before installing or removing cards, turn off all devices (the server,
peripherals, etc.) and unplug all power cables from the outlets.
Failure to do so may cause electric shock.
Follow the procedure below to install this product to the server.
For operations and instructions about how to install expansion cards including this product to the
server, also refer to the "User's Guide" provided with the server.

Turn off the server and peripherals and unplug their power cables
from the outlet.

Remove the cover from the server.

Remove the slot cover which blocks the PCI slot into which you
want to insert this product.

If the PCI slot where this product is installed is LowProfile, change
this product bracket to the LowProfile bracket provided with this
product.

Insert this product into the PCI slot.
Push this product as far as it will go so that its terminal fits securely in the PCI slot.

Secure this product to the server using screws or brackets.
Secure this product firmly to the server. If this product is not fixed securely, it
may out of place when connecting or disconnecting cables.

Attach the cover to the server.
