When using an S-4000S or S-4000H unit
1. Make sure the power to the S-4000S or S-4000H is turned off.
2. Using a MIDI cable, connect the MIDI IN connector on the S-4000S or S-4000H
connected to the S-4000R to the MIDI OUT connector on the SMF player.
3. Hold down [ MEMORY RECALL ] + [ LOCK ] + [ +48V ] on the S-4000R and turn
on the power to the S-4000S or S-4000H.
4. When an underline ("__") appears on the S-4000R's CHANNEL display, release the
buttons. After several seconds, the CLIP and SIG indicators and the CHANNEL
display indicate the current version.
5. Play back the update SMF data on the SMF player. When data transmission starts,
the CLIP and SIG indicators light up or begin to flash. * Once transmission
has started, never turn off the power or disconnect the MIDI cable.
6. When data transmission ends, the new version number is displayed.
7. After verifying the version, turn off the power.
When using an S-2416 unit
1. Make sure the power to the S-2416 is turned off.
2. Connect the S-4000R, hold down [ MEMORY RECALL ] + [ LOCK ] + [ +48V ] on
the S-4000R, and turn on the power to the S-2416.
3. When an underline ("__") appears on the S-4000R's CHANNEL display, release the
buttons. After several seconds, the CLIP and SIG indicators and the CHANNEL
display indicate the current version.
4. Using the USB cable, connect the S-2416 and the computer.
5. Play back the update SMF data on the SMF player. When data transmission starts,
the CLIP and SIG indicators light up or begin to flash. * "MIDI Out Device"
chooses "S-2416 DIGITAL SNAKE" or a "USB audio device." * Once
transmission has started, never turn off the power or disconnect the USB
cable.
6. When data transmission ends, the new version number is displayed.
After verifying the version, turn off the
power.
