Simple Instruction Set Control

Host‑to‑Unit Instructions
SIS commands consist of one or more characters per field. No special characters are
required to begin or end a command character sequence. When a command is valid, the
transmitter executes the command and sends a response to the host device. All responses
from the transmitter to the host end with a carriage return and a line feed (CR/LF = ]), which
signals the end of the response character string. A string is one or more characters.
Device‑Initiated Power‑Up Messages
When a local event such as a front panel selection or change in signal status takes place,
the switcher responds by sending a message to the host, indicating what change has
occurred. No response is required from the host.
The switcher sends the following message when it is first powered on:
(C) Copyright 2019, Extron Electronics DTP2 T 203, Vn.nn, 60-1659-52
NOTE: This message is displayed at power‑up only with an RS‑232 connection.

Error Responses

If the switcher is unable to execute a command it receives because the command is invalid
or contains invalid parameters, the switcher returns an error response to the host. The
following error response codes can be sent:
E01
E06
E10
E13
E14
E17
E24

Timeout

Pauses of 10 seconds or longer between command ASCII characters result in a timeout.
The command operation is aborted with no other indication.
