The available fl ash settings depend on the Recording Mode.

When [ q ] is selected, [ w ], [ e ] or [ r ] is set depending on the type of subject and
brightness.
• The fl ash setting may change when you change the Recording Mode. Change the fl ash setting
again if necessary.
• The fl ash settings are memorized even if you switch the camera off. However, the Scene Mode
fl ash settings return to the initial settings when you change the Scene Mode.

• The available focus range differs depending on the Recording Mode.
• When you use the fl ash when you have set ISO sensitivity to [i.AUTO], ISO sensitivity
automatically becomes a maximum of [ISO1000].
• The edges of the picture may appear dark if you shoot a very close subject with the fl ash while
the zoom lever is close to the W side. Zoom in slightly if this occurs.
• In [HIGH SENS.] in Scene Mode, the ISO sensitivity is automatically adjusted between
[ISO1600] and [ISO6400] and the available fl ash range also differs.
– Wide: Approx. 1.15 m (3.78 feet) to approx. 15 m (49.22 feet)
– Tele: Approx. 0.9 m (2.95 feet) to approx. 7.1 m (23.29 feet)
