EXHAUST SYSTEM
Regeneration
Regeneration is a cleaning process to remove trapped
urea deposits. In normal conditions, the exhaust system
will be regenerated or cleaned as the exhaust temperature
is sufficient enough for urea sublimation.
This process does not have any influence on the unit
operation or require any operator action. If the above
cleaning process cannot be achieved (lighter loads or
cool ambient conditions for extended period of time) the
accumulated urea must be removed by using the below
regeneration processes.
1. Auto Regeneration — This process will automatically
occur every 30 minutes. Fuel will be injected into the
exhaust stream to elevate the exhaust temperature.
No operator action is required for this process. The
Exhaust Temperature High indicator (Figure 86) will
appear on both ECU-845/670 controllers.
Allow the engine to run for at least 30 minutes to
complete the automatic regeneration process.

2. Manual Forced Regeneration — Force Regeneration
is required if the conditions for auto regeneration cannot
be achieved and when the urea accumulated in the
exhaust system is high.
The Regeneration Required indicator (Figure 87) will
appear on the ECU-845/670 controllers indicating that
Force Regeneration is required. At this point, perform
the Force (Manual) Regeneration by following these
steps.

„ Remove all loads from the generator and place all circuits
breakers in the OFF position.
„ Press the Program/Exit button on the ECU-845 Controller
and select "FORCE REGEN" mode (Figure 88).
