Automatic Backup

IMPORTANT: For the automatic backups to occur at their scheduled times, the system
must NOT be in "sleep mode," and both the drive and system must remain powered on.
1. Press the Automatic Backup button (clock icon) on the front of the unit to launch the
initial setup wizard. Click Next.
2. Click on the storage drive you want to back up. This is the source drive that Retrospect
Express will back up every time the automatic backup begins. Click Next.
3. Windows users and Mac OS 9.x users: By default, the software will copy Documents
Only which includes your work documents, music, and pictures. This is the ideal choice
for most users. To create a backup that includes restoration of your operating system and
programs, download the WD knowledge base article ID# 1270 at support.wdc.com. Make
your selection and click Next.
