Web-based Management Utility
You can use the web-based management utility on a web browser to configure the switch
module. You can access the configuration menu by a network connection.
Command Line Interface
Configuring the switch can be done using a command line interface via telnet or by using
the serial console interface.

Accessing CLI through Telnet

To access the command line interface via Telnet, follow the steps below.
1. Connect a PC to a network that is accessible to the switch. For example, connect a PC
to any of the front panel ports of the switch and make sure the PC has an IP address on
the same subnet as the switch management IP.
2. In the PC, start a telnet client session with the switch management IP (The switch's
management IP can be found from a serial console connection.) This brings up the
switch's command line interface for user login.
3. Enter the default username (ADMIN) and the unique password to login to the switch.
The factory unique password can be found on the sticker that is stuck at the bottom of
the switch.
4. To view the switch configurations use show commands and to configure the switch type
config term to get access to the configuration commands. For help, type ? or help.

Accessing CLI through a Serial Console

To access the command line interface via a serial console, follow the steps below.
1. Connect a PC serial port to the switch console port.
2. In the PC, open any serial port access applications, such as Hyperterminal or TeraTerm.
3. Choose the serial port connected with the switch and configure with the following
parameters:
Baudrate = 115200
Data bits = 8
Parity = None
Stop bit = 1
